Synopsis[]
Donna-Marie discovers the extent of James's gambling problems and wants to help, but getting through to James proves more challenging than she first thought. Honour accepts that Lizzie wants to be with Sid and agrees to talk Dave round, but she ends up getting drunk with Dave and not telling him. Goldie does a psychic reading for Pearl.
Plot[]
Ste seduces James. Goldie asks Tony if she can do a pub psychic show. Honour stops Lizzie from video calling Sid. James claims to have remained faithful when asked by Ste. Scott can't find Jack's crime novel that he's editing for him; Goldie's psychic abilities don't appear to find the novel either. Tony, however, finds the novel down the side of one of the sofas and hides it. Lizzie manages to talk Honour round over Sid. Pearl can't get through to Walter on the phone and calls Goldie a fake psychic, so Goldie offers to prove she's the real deal.
Dave wants Lizzie to date a man like Imran. Donna-Marie decides to take control of the family. A guilty James ends up telling Ste that he slept with Raphael. Goldie susses the name of Pearl's mother and Pearl then gets a phone call from Walter. Goldie concludes that she's got her sixth sense from Sylver. Ste kicks James out and refuses to forgive him. Honour and Dave invite Tony and Diane for a games night. Donna-Marie concludes James is a gambling addict after hearing him talk about cryptocurrency. She tries talking sense into him and vows to organise him the help he needs to overcome his demons.
Scott finds Jack's manuscript with all the character biographies in it in Goldie's bag. Pearl's unimpressed when she reads it and realises Goldie only knows her mother's name thanks to the biography. Goldie reveals Tony found the manuscript and gave it to her, which Tony doesn't deny. Goldie gets upset and explains to Pearl and Diane why she turned to giving psychic readings in the first place. Honour and Dave get drunk. Honour doesn't get a chance to talk to Dave about the idea of allowing Lizzie to be with Sid, annoying Lizzie. Donna-Marie, Romeo and Juliet stage an impromptu intervention with James but it doesn't go to plan. James insults the trio and then kicks them out of his house.
