Synopsis
Verity comes face-to-face with her brother, Eric Foster, for the first time in years. Misbah goes on a date with Derek. Leah's gesture helps Ella realise that she's not on her own. Olivia and Nancy continue to clash.Plot

As Verity works on a typewriter, a colleague dumps a pile of paperwork on her desk.

As Cleo works as a nurse, a perverted man eyes up her bottom after deliberately dropping his spoon on the floor.

Tony spills his drink on the floor of the pub as Theresa cleans it.
- Present day
Verity's unimpressed when Tony tells her and Theresa to smile so that they don't upset the customers. Brooke informs Nancy that the memorial tree has been destroyed. Verity's empowered as she reminds Tony to smile whilst pouring her and Theresa drinks. Leela hopes Sienna will return to Deadly Sheen but Sienna's hands are tied up with Wham! Glam! Thank You Tan!, which opens tomorrow. Ethan calls Leela dramatic, but she's just passionate. Ella receives a nasty comment online asking if she really suffered a miscarriage. Sally's perceived as a spinster to Hollyoaks High, although she's actually just dedicated.
Zain invites Imran to the park. Misbah agrees to meet Derek for their date. Charlie brands Nancy as bossy and is rude towards Ella. Nancy shows Charlie that she is actually just the boss as she puts him in his place. Ste calls Sienna an ice queen when she offers him a cheque to keep Deadly Sheen afloat. Ethan phones Sienna, in need of help. Eric Foster arrives at the pub in search of Verity, but he can't find her and so leaves. Derek calls Zoe a ladette, but she's actually self-assured. Cleo introduces herself to Zoe and then introduces Zoe to Verity and Theresa. Theresa is told by Verity that she shouldn't let people treat her like an airhead, but Theresa hints at her genius side when she explains how much she can get away with when she plays dumb.
Leah gets her classmates to write on a tag a secret or something they're worried about to show she's not alone. Olivia clashes with Nancy, who asks her if she was a mean girl at school, but Olivia's just showing her mean side. Nancy takes pride in vomiting over Olivia's shoes. Misbah's left feeling invisible on her date with Derek, so she makes herself visible by ending their date early. Cleo, Theresa and Zoe tear up beer promotion leaflets, which have a woman dressed in leather on them. Cleo dislikes how she's labelled as damaged goods and refuses to apologise for who she is anymore. She's a survivor.
Verity receives a text from Eric and finds him in the village. He wanted to see where their father had died, but is quick to leave before Verity can get much more out of him. Shaq finds Verity afterwards and feels terrible for how they ended yesterday. Verity convinces both him and herself that she's fine, and insists she doesn't need him. Sienna can't get hold of Ethan. She's worried about him. There's a knock at her door. Cleo, Theresa and Zoe arrange to meet Verity at the Loft. Charlie ignores Ella's texts. Eric scrolls through Verity's social media profile at the bus stop. Sienna opens the door to a wounded Ethan, who falls to the floor. Verity warily walks through the village alone before finding Theresa. They head to the Loft together.Cast

General
- This episode was dedicated to International Women's Day. To celebrate this day, the episode featured the women of Hollyoaks challenging dismissive terms used against them. Verity Hutchinson gave a monologue over the opening and final scenes of the episode, while graphics were used to promote discussion around the unhelpful labels used towards women. Furthermore, the post-credits scene of this episode was replaced with a collage of images of the female cast, with the hashtag #BreaktheBias overlaid on it. This hashtag was also used for the episode.
