Synopsis
Social services show up at the McQueens, much to Mercedes's annoyance. Toby is brought out of his coma. Darren has a change of heart over Charlie and Ella.Plot
Mercedes intends to homeschool Bobby. The doctors are ready to bring Toby out of his coma. Darren wants to support Charlie and Ella having their baby. Nana doesn't think Bobby should be homeschooled. Martine's unnerved when Grace overhears her talking about Toby. Neither Cindy nor Nancy are won over by Darren's attempts at making them see a different side to Ella's pregnancy. Martine manages to talk Grace out of revealing Toby's improving condition to Saul.
John Paul calls into work sick, although he is really just hungover. Bobby wants to go to school. Social worker Mike Bridgecroft shows up at the McQueens to talk about Bobby. Darren and Nancy bag Charlie an after-school job at Price Slice. Mercedes demands to know who referred her to social services but gets nowhere. Mike's wants to talk to Bobby. Imran's prepared to impress Serena at Sam's bootcamp. Cleo wants nothing to do with Toby. Martine asks her to keep quiet about Toby coming around. DeMarcus is unhappy with Martine and Felix's protection over Toby and texts an unknown number, demanding to meet.
John Paul takes Bobby out for a pizza. Mercedes maintains a defensive attitude towards Mike, who believes that the family would benefit from further assistance. Sam gets tough with Imran when he catches him flirting with Serena. Imran wants a chance to prove himself, so Sam plans to give him weeks and months of sweat and pain in training. Nancy buys Charlie literature on parenting to start reading. Charlie earns a bonus from working but spends it on a game, leaving Nancy unimpressed. She thinks Charlie and Ella should consider adoption. Toby regains consciousness. He begs Martine not to turn her back on him. Bobby returns home without John Paul. Mercedes finds miniatures in Bobby's schoolbag.Cast
