Episode 5496/5497 is a bumper episode of Hollyoaks which aired on Tuesday 29th December 2020.

Synopsis

Nancy's in disbelief when John Paul reveals that Charlie is dealing drugs. Juliet races to protect her loved ones from Victor. And can Tom and Yazz's wedding go ahead despite all the drama?

Plot

Mandy and Nancy prepare The Dog in the Pond for the wedding. Tom fusses over the decorations to Mandy and Nancy's annoyance. John Paul rushes in and tells Nancy that he's just witnessed Charlie dealing drugs to Ollie. Juliet pleads with Victor to not hurt her friends or family. Imran finds Ollie inside the garage, high on ketamine. He reveals his true feelings about Imran getting with Brooke. Ollie brings up Imran's violence towards Misbah, so Imran tells Ollie not to bother returning to the house: he is on his own. Juliet tells James about Victor's threat. Nancy doesn't believe John Paul. A suspicious Mandy tries to call Ella but is unable to get ahold of her. Romeo tries to apologise to Cher. He tells her of his feelings for her and they reconcile. Mandy informs Luke that Ollie has continued taking drugs. Cindy is shocked to find the wedding present missing and they work out what has happened. Cindy vows to sort things. Jordan orders Ella to go to the bathroom before getting on the train, and hide the ketamine inside her. Sid tells Jordan what Juliet has done to Victor. Jordan is unsympathetic and Sid disowns him for putting Juliet in danger in the first place. Peri is cold towards Leela. Juliet tells Sid about the danger everyone is in. She plans to ensure that everyone is safe and go on the run whilst James calls the police.

Romeo rejects a call from Juliet. Victor approaches Romeo, armed with a knife. Nancy and Mandy worry about not hearing from Charlie or Ella when a high Ollie walks in preparing to be sick. Ollie snaps at Mandy when she shows concern, and Darren tells him off. Nancy confronts Ollie, and he is forced to admit that Charlie did deal to him. James encounters Victor approaching Romeo. Victor prepares to stab James, until James points out all of the evidence that could be used against him. Ollie is cold towards Cindy. Cindy gets through to him and Ollie opens up to her. Cindy admits that she is worried about Hilton finding and taking the ketamine. Ollie is furious and explodes at Cindy, purposefully winding her up. She snaps and throws a bag of ketamine at him, telling him to take the drugs if he wants to be an addict for the rest of his life. She says it is now up to him as they have tried everything. Peri admits to Leela that she has feelings for Juliet.

John Paul is annoyed when George has to cancel their New Years plans. He accidentally lets slip that he witnessed Charlie dealing. George is forced to report what John Paul has said. Charlie is worried when Ella returns, having refused to hide the drugs inside of her. They are worried when they check their phones and find several missed calls. Charlie is horrified to overhear George air his description over his radio, and they decide to hide inside The Hutch. Juliet tells Peri the full extent of her dealing. She tells Peri that she and Sid are going on the run. She tells Peri that she loves her and they kiss. The police arrive at 17 Basswood Road. Nancy turns up searching for Charlie when George knocks on the door. Mandy searches for Ella in the flat. She checks Ella's bag and finds the wads of cash. Peri convinces Juliet to stay in the village and face the police, but is shocked when she sees what is in Juliet's pocket. Leela, Ste and Courtney toast to 2021. Sid is confronted by Victor. He smashes up Sid's guitar. George breaks open Charlie's game controller and finds ketamine inside. He demands to know where Charlie is. Darren and Mandy are worried about Ella's voice message. Nancy informs Darren that drugs have been found in Charlie's controller.

Leela is unable to get ahold of Sid, and is worried when she finds his broken guitar. Victor prepares to take Sid inside The Hutch, where Charlie and Ella are hiding under the table. Peri forces Juliet to give her the weapon. She puts it on the table and goes to The Hutch to meet with Sid. Nancy, Darren and Mandy split up to find the kids. Luke is upset when Cindy thinks that they should give up on Ollie. Darren spreads the word about Charlie and Ella. James worries to Marnie that Victor, Juliet, Ella and Charlie are all connected. Juliet is horrified to learn that Victor sent the text. Juliet wants Victor to kill her instead, just as Jordan arrives. Victor tells Jordan to kill Sid and Juliet, or else Victor will kill him. Misbah informs Tom and Yazz about Charlie and Ella going missing. Jordan refuses to let Sid and Juliet leave, or call the police on Victor. Jordan says that he has lost everything but his job. Nancy blames herself. Marnie arrives and tries to comfort Mandy and Nancy. She suggests checking in with the people whom Charlie plays video games with.

Juliet and Sid plead for their lives. Jordan admits that he used Juliet and Sid. He has a change of heart after Sid's word, and decides to try to talk Victor round. He makes them promise to get out of the world of county lines dealing, and to do something with their lives. Ella accidentally kicks the table, alerting Jordan. Luke finds Ollie and they reconcile. James tells George about Victor's threats towards his family. Yazz points out that it does not matter the mess that everything is in, and that the guests have not arrived at the wedding, as they are together. Yazz takes Tom to the altar where she asks if he takes her as his lawful wedding wife, to which he says "I do". Tom then asks if Yazz will take her to be her husband, to which she says "I do". Misbah declares them husband and wife. Jordan finds Charlie and Ella under the table of The Hutch. Peri is horrified to learn that Victor ordered Jordan to kill Sid and Juliet. Jordan confronts Charlie and Ella. Peri is shocked to learn that Jordan spared them. Sid is shocked when Juliet reveals that they are not leaving. Charlie becomes fearful of Jordan and arms himself with Victor's knife. Jordan gets angry and demands that Charlie gives him the knife. As Jordan gets closer to him, Charlie stabs Jordan on the stroke of midnight. Darren finds The Hutch unlocked and enters to find Charlie and Ella standing over Jordan's body.
