Synopsis
Kyle decides to give Nancy the best day ever, but Nancy is unaware that it will be their last - Darren is distraught when he finds that Kyle has taken his own life in The Hutch. Mandy is furious when Luke tells her what he told Darren, he has made things much worse. Cher settles in with Sylver and Mercedes.Plot
Kyle composes himself before presenting Nancy with breakfast and a smile. He tells her that today will be the best day ever. Darren looks at himself in the mirror. Mercedes catches Cher going through her bag. Nancy is shocked when Kyle reveals that he phoned Sally and told her that they all had the flu. Sylver walks in on Cher and Mercedes fighting, as Mercedes pulls her necklace from Cher's pocket. Romeo tries to find Cher on social media. Tom decides to get Romeo's mind off her. Kyle reveals that he has bought family tickets to the theme parks, hotels and attractions at Disneyland Paris. Nancy is further surprised when Kyle reveals that he is taking her out for dinner.Darren doesn't want to talk to Luke and an argument ensues, Darren says that he is depressed. Mercedes confronts Cher, Cher thinks Mercedes is only letting her stay because Kelly abandoned her. Cher thinks Mercedes has the "perfect family", Mercedes tells her about how the McQueens used to shoplift with baby bumps. Mercedes says that she is making Cher work as a pot washer to make up for her stealing. Nancy is thrilled with how The Hutch has been decorated. Nancy worries that everything is "too good to be true". Darren opens up to Luke about his feelings. Luke is unsupportive, he doesn't believe Darren is depressed. He asks Darren why he should be depressed. Darren apologises for speaking. Luke gives Darren poor advice, to "man up and stop wallowing". Darren feels conflicted with emotion and walks off.
Mercedes tells Cher that if she wants to join their family, she never steals the three M's; make-up, money and men. She also advises to never date a police officer. If the police knock on the door, any stolen property is hidden and she did not see or hear anything, and always let the man to do the work. Luke tells Mandy what happened. Mandy is furious with Luke's insensitivity, saying that he's only made things "ten times worse". Darren ignores the call from Mandy, but calls Kyle when he gets Kyle's text. He calls Kyle and apologises for turning his back on him. He says Kyle was right about telling other people. Kyle ignores his phone. Nancy says that Kyle is an "astronomical miracle", even though he is struggling with MS, the "explosion will happen at some point" - the day they reconnected at the MS support group meeting. She says that no matter what the universe throws at them, they will always end up together. Kyle surprises Nancy with a box of fireworks and she is delighted. Nancy gets a text from Jack, who is struggling with Oscar. Nancy wants to leave and play the game tomorrow, but Kyle says that it's "tonight or not at all", but changes his mind. He decides to stay and clean up.
Sylver overhears Tom and Romeo, but Romeo tries to deny his feelings for Cher. Sylver tries to encourage Romeo to impress her, offering drinks on the house - but discovers the woman is Cher. Mercedes decides to distract Sylver. Romeo gives Cher his number so he can show her around, but Cher says that he is going to have to try harder. Mercedes is impressed by her attitude. Kyle returns to The Hutch and looks at Oscar's family tree drawing. He blows a candle out at the table, and closes the blinds. People walk past The Hutch, oblivious on what is happening inside. Darren notices the fireworks. He walks past The Hutch to see that the lights are still on. He notices the box of fireworks sitting outside. He goes in and sees Kyle. He comes out, in shock, calling for an ambulance - Kyle is dead, he has taken his own life.
