Synopsis
Tony undergoes the "operation", but Verity discovers that Edward didn't remove the "tumour". Edward reveals the entire truth and swears her to secrecy, will she keep quiet? Tom's attempts to give Romeo relationship advice end with Romeo giving him advice, whilst Jordan gets closer to Charlie.Plot
Edward visits Tony as he prepares to go into hospital. Jordan informs his boss that he will get Sid to move the package today. Verity, James and Sami celebrate their new firm. Diane is adamant on thinking positive on the surgery and Edward tries to assure him that he is in the best hands. The kids give Tony "Gilly the giraffe" to comfort him in hospital, as the giraffe comforted Dee Dee. Jordan is surprised to learn that Sid and Juliet are on a school trip to North Wales for the week. Jordan sends Charlie a message from Sid's account. Tom points out that Romeo is lacking in a love life, and has decided to give him some advice. Yazz and Romeo are uncomfortable. Romeo is surprised to learn that Tom and Yazz haven't slept together yet.
Sami and James bicker and Verity gets frustrated. She leaves Sami and James to do the work as she leaves to be with Tony for his surgery. Tony is prepared for surgery. Diane remembers when they first met on a beach at Brighton, and ended up together over twenty years later. She says that they belong together and are unbreakable, which Edward overhears. Nancy tells Charlie that they are going out to dinner. He doesn't want to, in favour of playing with Sid, so Nancy bans video games on school nights. He storms off. Tony is taken into the operating theatre. He says to Edward that if anything happens to him, to look after Diane. The doctors inject anaesthesia as Tony counts backwards from 10.
Edward washes his hands as Tony lays on the operating table. Diane waits anxiously in the operating room. A surgeon informs Edward that Tony's vitals are stable. Edward takes the scalpel. Verity arrives at the hospital and comforts Diane. Edward hesitates for a moment before beginning the surgery. Jordan gets Charlie to help him learn to play the game. Edward informs Verity and Diane that the surgery was a success and Tony has a little chance of the brain tumour returning. Diane hugs him. Sami informs James that Tony's surgery was a success. James makes fun of Sami when he orders flowers for Verity. Edward is rude and snaps at Misbah when she wants to see the file. Verity is suspicious, especially when Edward prevents her from seeing it too. Edward has the file stored in his office.
Tom is furious to find Romeo blasting music from a DJ set in the bazaar, but Yazz is impressed, especially when she sees the amount of customers. Yazz makes an excuse to get out of the night with Tom. Romeo points out that Yazz made an excuse, and plans to teach Tom how to treat Yazz better. Verity gets the doctor to leave the file unattended and takes a look at it - she sees the note at the bottom "Proceedure cancelled. Tumour not removed", and is horrified. Charlie says that he owes Sid. Jordan tells him about a package Sid needed to move, telling Charlie to keep is safe and to not look inside. Charlie realises that it's Jordan's, but agrees. Tony wakes after the surgery. Verity confronts Edward over the file. Edward admits that there was never a tumour - he faked the entire thing, and Verity will say nothing about it.Cast
