Synopsis
After seeing all the things that he would be missing out on, Tony agrees to have the surgery, as Edward switches Tony's brain scan with another patient's.Plot
Tony is in shock at his diagnosis, and stares blankly as life continues around him. James is upset, and also stares blankly as Marnie rushes around the house. Edward plays the cello in his office. Diane struggles with looking after the kids. Tony promises to Ant that he will go to his football match, and is adamant on going despite his hospital appointment. Diane doesn't want him to, until they have spoken to Edward. Marnie tries to make James pull himself together. James is jealous of George so Marnie tries to build up his self-esteem and encourages him to go see John Paul. John Paul sulks over his failed date with George and Sally tries to convince him to set George straight. She manages to cheer him up.Luke tells Ollie about Tony's diagnosis. Cindy and Ollie argue about Brooke's vegan burgers. Imran has brought Ollie "the answer to all [his] problems". John Paul wants to talk to George properly and tries to convince him to accept. James interrupts their conversation and tries to make things uncomfortable. Charlie tries to apologise to Ella, and Ella makes Charlie agree to help re-decorate her room in exchange for her not telling Mandy about Charlie almost hitting her with the controller. She says that he is "seriously screwed up". Diane is angry at life - everything bad always happens to them. Edward calls them into his office. Scott tries to convince Mitchell to agree to Felix's offer.
Edward shows Diane and Tony the tumour, and informs Tony that the tumour can only be removed with surgery. The surgery is minimally invasive and mostly successfully, but still carries risks. Tony does not want the surgery due to the risks. Edward tells him that without the surgery, the tumour may kill him unexpectedly. He needs Tony's authorisation today. Charlie asks if Mandy will pay him to help Ella with her room, as he needs a new controller. Mandy says that Charlie can earn the £20 he needs by helping her, but he does not like what he has to do. Diane tries to convince Tony to have the surgery. John Paul tells George about his dating history. He is grateful for the second chance. Scott asks Marnie for some time off, but she falls over and messes up her hair, and she storms off.
George reveals that he is the youngest of five brothers. John Paul reveals that he is one of eight siblings, but only five are alive. George also reveals that he can toss a caber. Ollie is delighted with Imran's idea of setting up a stall outside of The Cunningham Grande Bazaar. They panic when they see a furious Cindy. Cindy tries to guilt Brooke, but sees how much money she has made and begins to change her mind about vegan foods. Mitchell is surprised to learn that Scott has gotten time off to accompany him to his work course. Luke convinces Tony to get an operation. Ollie invites the parents to join in on the football gamer and Ant asks Tony to join. Tony is feeling unwell so Luke steps in. Charlie messages Sid through the game, unaware that Jordan is using his account.
John Paul is unimpressed to walk in to James wanting to treat John Paul to dinner. James says that they both know that they are "endgame". Tony tells Diane at his disappointment about being unable to play footabll with Ant, and has decided to get the surgery. His appointment is scheduled for tomorrow. Edward locks the door to his office. He alters the scan results of Richard Bates's brain scan and applies Tony's name, making it appear as if he has a stage two brain tumour. Cindy announces the new vegan burger at Burger, She Wrote.

General
- A tribute for Felix Schroer was presented at the end of this episode, following the post-credits scene. Felix had served as a camera operator and the head of photography on Hollyoaks until his unexpected death in March 2020.
