Synopsis
Tony is adamant on returning to normality, but everyone is shocked when Edward tells him that Tony has a brain tumour. John Paul's date with George is ruined by James's arrival. Mitchell worries about telling everyone the news of his engagement to Scott, whilst Ella and Leah see a dark side to Charlie.Plot
Cindy and Ollie have decorated the house for a pleased Luke's birthday. Sally fusses over getting John Paul ready for his date with George. Edward checks on Tony in his hospital room, smirking. Diane is pleased when he wakes up. Tony is shocked to discover that he has had a seizure. He is adamant on going home but Diane refuses to let him. She blames herself for Tony's condition. Sally gives Mercedes the last of Sylver's belongings. Mercedes makes sure that John Paul is over James. John Paul is adamant that he is over James and is interested in George.Scott worries about Tony. Mitchell says that they should wait before giving everyone the good news. However, Mitchell is worried that his engagement to Scott might complicate things with Walter. Scott reveals that he has already made arrangements to meet with Martine to tell her the news. Mitchell is insistent that nobody other than Martine is allowed to know at this stage, and makes Scott promise to keep quiet. Tony receives a text from Cindy and decides to leave. Edward refuses to let him be discharged. Edward informs Tony that the initial tests have come clear, so they need to investigate further - he is sending Tony for a brain scan. Cindy has bought Luke a mug with her on it, but as the mug is filled, her clothes disappear. Ollie is horrified. Out of Cindy's earshot, Ollie asks if Luke can sell Brooke's burgers at the stall. Luke refuses as it's Cindy's business and she wouldn't allow it.
James wants to talk to John Paul but John Paul makes his hatred of James (over the shooting of Mercedes) clear. He begs John Paul to give him five minutes. Mandy tip-toes around Darren, but he assures her that he is fine. Mandy asks Ella to get Charlie to go out with her and Leah. John Paul says that he didn't think James was capable of shooting someone. James tries to explain his actions. John Paul decides to leave so James tells him that he's in love with John Paul. John Paul gets annoyed - he is trying to move on from James. He reveals that he is going on a date. Tony doesn't want Diane to know about the brain scan. Martine is delighted to learn of Mitchell and Scott's engagement. Felix walks in on them celebrating.
Edward catches Misbah looking at a job in Surrey. She gives Edward the scan results. He acts shocked and goes to see Tony, only to find him missing. Leah tries to get Charlie off his game and they argue, which ends with Charlie smashing his controller after Leah unplugs his controller. He storms off to Ella and Leah's shock. George accepts John Paul's offer of going into town. George recognises Goldie, she reveals that her mum was the village serial killer. Goldie assures George that she won't also be a serial killer as she looked up on the internet, and found that it couldn't be passed down through DNA. James finds John Paul and George in The Dog in the Pond. Goldie shouts at him to leave and George notices James looking at an uncomfortable John Paul, who plays down his discomfort.
Diane informs everyone of Tony's hospitalisation. They are shocked when Tony turns up, having also done the catering. Tony lies about the reason to his collapse. Mitchell worries that Felix might tell Walter. Felix promises to not say anything. He thinks that they should celebrate anyway. Mitchell isn't sure about celebrating with him, but Felix manages to change his mind as he offers to pay for the wedding. Scott thinks Mitchell should agree. Ollie and Brooke sell the vegan burgers at Luke's burger stall, and Luke is furious when he catches them. Ollie manages to change his mind and informs them that they have almost sold out. However, Cindy is furious when she finds out. George confronts John Paul. George doesn't believe that John Paul isn't in love with James. He decides to leave. Edward arrives at the party to talk to Tony. Tony doesn't want to talk and they make a scene. Edward ends up publicly revealing that Tony has a brain tumour to everyone's shock.
