Synopsis

Mercedes demands justice as the village reels from the events of the previous day. Liberty desperately searches for Brody. Walter decides that he doesn't want to lose Mitchell.

Plot

Mercedes watches Sylver playing with Bobby. Sylver invites Mercedes to sit with them. Marnie tries to comfort James. Grace looks at a photograph of Liam, Jesse and Adam. She comforts Curtis. Mercedes makes clear that she plans on reporting James and Grace to the police. Courtney is incensed as she blames Grace for everything. Grace says of her jealousy over Liam, Jesse and Adam as they had more than she and Clare did with Fraser. She thinks that she corrupted the remainder of her family. She plans on leaving the village, and asks Courtney to take care of Curtis.

Marnie recruits John Paul's help as James wallows in self-pity. John Paul makes clear that she hates James. He explodes at James for his self-pity. He tells James to stop, call the police, and regain control, before storming off. Liberty receives the voicemail from Brody, and worries when she notices that Brody hasn't slept in his bed. Sylver tries to change Mercedes's mind. Grace arrives to talk to Sylver. Sylver makes clear that he cannot forgive Grace. Grace tells Sylver that she's planning on making a full confession.

Marnie is furious when Walter is sympathetic towards Liam's death. She apologises when she sees Tony. Marnie calls Walter an idiot and is sarcastic towards her for his treatment over Mitchell as she explodes at him. Marnie is confused to discover that James has brought Juliet and Romeo home to spend time with them before he goes to prison. Grace says goodbye to Curtis before going to the police station. Curtis gives her his toy bear to look after her. Sylver notices Grace getting into a police car. Sylver is angry with Mercedes's remarks, thinking about everyone Curtis has lost. Sylver points out that the whole mess started when Mercedes ran over Grace and covered it up.

Romeo and Juliet are confused as James talks about taking responsibility for his actions, before going with the police to the station. Liberty is delighted to see Brody. She tells them about her worries. Maxine tells her what happened and Liberty sympathises when she learns that Maxine was caught up in the siege. James apologises to Mercedes. Mercedes tells them that she's not going to tell the police anything. She wants them to say that Mercedes killed Liam in self-defence.

Walter visits the Hutchinsons to see Mitchell. He wants to invite him and Scott to dinner. Mercedes says that she's going to tell the police that Liam shot her. She thinks that enough damage has been done, she didn't hate Grace - she felt guily, and they need to begin putting everything behind them. George tells Mercedes that D.S. Cohen is ready to see her. Maxine helps a locked-out Liberty by lending Liberty her spare key that Sienna gave her. Maxine reveals that she knows that Liberty is in love with Brody. James and Grace are pleased to learn that Mercedes has been released with no charge. She tells them that it's all over.
