Synopsis
Cleo's world comes crashing down around her following her discovery.Plot
Cleo asks Mitchell if he's been sleeping with Scott. Mitchell insists he hasn't and claims he and Scott were birdwatching in the Florist when the crane crashed down on them. Cleo doesn't believe a single word that falls from Mitchell's mouth and Mitchell ends up admitting the truth. Cleo's convinced she was only used as a cover-up and asks Mitchell if he was always gay. He can't give her an answer. She loses her temper with Mitchell and turns to the vending machine for food.
Mitchell refuses to give Cleo any change for the machine. Cleo's speechless when Mitchell refers to Scott as "her". Mitchell recalls how he used to feel protected by Walter but now is convinced he's failed him and that he'll be hated. Cleo decides she wants to know every sordid little detail about Mitchell and Scott's affair and heads to confront Scott, who has come round. Scott confirms it was him who wrote the note to Cleo in red lipstick.
Cleo forces Mitchell and Scott to tell her when they first got intimate. She's disgraced to hear it was in their new flat. Cleo feels utterly betrayed by Scott. Scott opens up to Cleo about the difficulties of coming out in the hopes of helping her come round. He gets tearful as he insists he wished it wasn't Cleo he'd hurt. Mitchell confesses his love for Scott in front of Cleo and chooses him over her. A defeated Cleo leaves the hospital, telling Doctor Slavin on the way out she no longer works there. Cleo meets with Joel and asks if she's broken. Joel tells her everyone's broken, but the question is whether or not they can heal. Cleo thinks she can.Cast
