Synopsis
Plot
Lewis tells Ruth about Finn's older woman and invites Ruth to lunch to meet her. Unfortunately, she has already made plans to meet Ed to go over her dissertation, and Lewis is offended to not have been invited.
When Ruth meets Ed, he tries to make constructive comments about her dissertation, but she takes it all the wrong way and assumes that he just means that it's rubbish. Later, she tells her dad about the dissertation, and he suggests that she should email it to her mum. She does this, and receives a reply saying that she should go to America so that they can work on it together.
Mandy sees Darren and tells him that she and Luke have split up. Darren is surprised by the news, but she explains that she had to dump him because he seemed to have gone off her. Mandy then enlists Darren's help to try to find out what went wrong.
Hannah has a friend - Steph - that wants to join the gang, so Zara decides that she must perform an initiation test – dump paint in the school swot's bag. The girl does what is asked of her but gets scared when the swot tells the teacher about what has happened, so she lies and says that she saw Zara do it.
Alex and Sam are in the Common Room when Matt arrives to tell them that the Halls are to be inspected in a few days' time and that they will lose their deposits if they are not up to scratch.
Meanwhile, Dan jokes with Nikki that they should marry on a mountain whilst away skiing. He then adopts a more serious tone, and gets on one knee to propose.Cast
