Synopsis
Plot
Paul arrives to carry on with the job and can't believe that Tony was stupid enough to have a go himself. Finn calls round with a DIY book and advises Tony to get professionals in to sort it out. As Finn investigates the mess he discovers a roll of canvas. He unrolls it to reveal that it is a Lowry. Paul reckons the painting is an original, probably worth thousands. Tony immediately phones the local art gallery. At the gallery the art expert, Mr. Donovan examines the picture and, after some checking, proclaims that he's 99% certain that it's a fake. Tony decides that he quite likes the picture anyway and goes to buy a frame for it. However, the painting is too big to fit in it so Tony trims away the large unwanted sections that don't fit. Later, an excited Mr. Donovan arrives at the house with new evidence, which proves that the picture is indeed genuine! It's hard to see who is the most horrified as Tony shows Mr. Donovan the remains of the picture.
Ruth is forced to accept a lift home from Ed when her car refuses to start. The conversation is easier between them and when they get back to the flat, Ruth invites Ed up for a coffee. Lewis arrives home in a bad mood and goes through to the bedroom. Ruth asks him to come out and not be so rude but Lewis snaps at her to leave him alone. Ed bows out, leaving Ruth worrying about Lewis' outburst.
Reverend Green arrives at the halls. They go into Anna's room where she goes into a tirade about his hypocrisy and how much he has upset her mum. Anna's father explains that she is going to stand by him because she feels that the marriage is worth saving, despite the added complication - and reveals that the woman he was seeing is expecting his child.
Sol tells Paul that he has got somewhere to stay and nods towards a derelict building. They go into the building where they see a junkie lying on the floor. Sol talks to the junkie. Sol decides to try the night shelter and the junkie goes with him. At the shelter Sol is offered a bed. Sol goes up for food but when he gets back to the table he sees that the junkie has gone and taken Sol's bag with him.Cast
