Synopsis
Doctor S'Avage delivers some crushing news to Patrick, but Maxine continues to show her support. A jealous Kim fumes as Grace and Trevor look set to get their happy ever after. Meanwhile, Jason and Robbie make amends, but Jason struggles to keep his brother on the right path.Plot
Nico wakes up after having a nightmare about Ben over killing Carly. Trevor collects his belongings and walks out of the police station without charge, which Ben is unhappy about. Trevor is greeted by Grace outside and are spotted by Kim. Sienna thinks about calling Maxine when Nico walks in.
Sienna points out that Maxine won't let go about what Nico said to her yesterday and has no idea what to say to her. Nico points out that she killed someone but Sienna tells her that it was self-defence, and Nico says that she's going to tell the police. Sienna tells Nico that she can't tell anyone. Nico tells her that she can't stop thinking about what happened. Sienna points out that it would ruin Patrick's life. Nico responds by saying that he never wanted her anyway and would be happy, and Sienna tells her that he is dying. Maxine tells Darren that Nico knows something about Carly's murder, when Theresa knocks at the door. She has a go at Darren for attacking Patrick, which shocks Maxine. Theresa tells Maxine that Patrick is having tests done at the hospital and Maxine goes with her, which annoys Darren. Robbie tries to call Grace but it goes to voicemail. Kim arrives and questions Jason about the police letting Trevor go, but Jason says that he can't talk about it. Kim asks Jason again believing Jack and Frankie have a right to know, but Jason refuses and walks off.
Patrick waits sitting on a hospital bed when Maxine and Theresa arrive. Doctor S'Avage walks in and informs Patrick that he hasn't received any damage from the accident, but that his right leg has started to weaken and that his condition has progressed. Charles and Theresa talk about a drug that might help Patrick, which he refuses to take, which confuses Maxine. Patrick says he has a governor's meeting he has to get to but Maxine says he can't and Theresa offers to do it instead. Grace confronts Ben in The Hutch. She says she's sorry about Carly but that it wasn't Trevor. Ben replies by saying that after Carly's funeral, he will kill whoever killed her and walks out. Kim arrives and Grace thanks her for the pictures of Curtis and that she's excited that he will be able to come home soon. Kim says that they can then be a family and Grace offers to get them something to eat and for Kim to sit down. Kim looks through Grace's phone and sees texts from Trevor and realises him and Grace are still together.
Maxine asks Patrick about the drug that he's refusing to take. Patrick points out that it's not a cure and that it'll give him a few months. Maxine says that it will help him live longer, but Patrick says he isn't sure if he wants to live longer and let his condition progress and not being able to bond with Minnie, like he did with his father. Maxine says there might be someone he'd want to talk to. Patrick refuses, so Maxine insists that he listen, that he has been in control of everything all his life and that he should take control and face his fears.
Nico is upset that Patrick didn't tell her that he's dying but Sienna tells her that he didn't want he to feel sorry for him. Ben arrives and tells her that Trevor has been released because his alibi checked out. Sienna apologises. Ben asks Nico is she's okay, and she says she is and goes to her room. Ben tells Sienna that someone killed Carly and he won't stop looking, which Nico overhears. Trevor is frustrated as he tries to put a bookcase together as Grace walks in. Trevor and Grace are excited that Curtis is going to be coming home in a few hours. Kim holds Curtis in the hospital and tells him that Trevor is only using him to get Grace back and promises him that she can't let that happen. Robbie catches Jason getting sick in the toilet and thinks he's relapsed, but Jason promises that it was something that he ate. Robbie apologise that he put so much pressure on Jason recently. Robbie says that he has nothing in his life to look forward to and tells Jason that he has a lot going for him. Theresa arrives at the governor's meeting. Patrick tells Maxine he isn't sure about talking to someone, but Maxine assures him that everything will be fine. Patricks walks into the office and meets Ailsa who has the same condition as Patrick. Sienna and Nico walk through the village and bump into Darren and Frankie, who question her about Carly. Nico says they went to the house and Sienna interrupts saying there was a car outside, and that someone was waiting outside. They ask if it was Trevor's car but Sienna says she thinks it was. Maxine and Patrick talk to Ailsa, who explains her condition and about how she had to tell her daughter about her condition and about how she's stayed strong and made loads of great memories with her daughter. Sienna, Nico and Darren arrive at the police station and Darren tells Ben about Trevor's car being outside Carly's house.
Theresa struggles with the meeting, but then explains to the governor's that Patrick trusted her with the presentation, and tells them not to give up on him. Jason and Robbie play video games and Jason explains to Robbie that he had a difficult upbringing and Robbie's afraid he'll end up like his dad, but Jason ensures him that he won't. Darren and Frankie meet Kim in the hospital and Kim tells them that Trevor is bringing Curtis home, which Frankie isn't happy about. Kim advises Frankie to bring Curtis home first. Maxine makes Patrick a cup of tea. Patrick tells her about his father and his condition, how he didn't recognise him, that he doesn't want to die and that he isn't strong enough but Maxine convinces him that he is and that he has to fight. Maxine tells him to think about the memories with Minnie and that the longer he's in their life, the better. Patrick agrees to call the hospital to start on the drug.
Robbie tells Trevor he wants to work for him, but Trevor refuses. Trevor and Grace arrives, and are shocked to see Frankie taking Curtis home. Frankie points out that Carly's dead and everyone knows Trevor was involved and that she won't let him anywhere near Curtis, and walks out of the hospital, much to Trevor and Grace's horror and Kim's delight. Patrick informs Maxine that he can start on the drug in the morning, which she's happy about. Maxine says that she believes in him, which Patrick is flattered by. Patrick thanks Maxine and gives her a necklace. Patrick tells Maxine that he still loves her and doesn't think he can stop and kisses her, which Theresa oversees upset. Kim tells Grace that everything will work out as Grace is upset that she couldn't bring Curtis home. Kim tells Grace that they can get through anything together and that she isn't going anywhere and they hug.Cast
