Synopsis

Mercedes decides to confront the truth, which has huge consequences. Elsewhere in the village, Nancy's in for a shock from a mystery admirer, and Lindsey takes drastic action when she uncovers a conspiracy that could ruin her future.

Plot

Celine checks on Reenie after Pete walks out on her. Cleo comes in and gets a text from Harry asking if she's okay. Joe is doing his physio with the physiotherapist Dan but still can't feel his legs. Theresa makes Patrick and Minnie breakfast. Patrick can't feel anything in his hand and switches his plate with Minnie's. Celine points out that Reenie always hits self-destruct whenever Pete walks out. Cleo wishes that she didn't show her up at school yesterday. Celine says that Reenie's better when Pete's around. Dan encourages Joe to keep trying and tries to use JJ to encourage him. Lindsey brings JJ in to visit Joe and asks Dan to give them five minutes. Lindsey says they need to talk about Phoebe. Theresa tries to encourage Patrick but he feels too down about his condition. Lindsey says that Joe shouldn't have gone to Phoebe's funeral and that she was scared that he was going to confess. Joe asks Lindsey if she's visiting Ziggy and she says yes, and informs him that Freddie is helping out at the garage, and Joe accuses him of trying to steal his business like he stole Lindsey. Dan asks Joe if he wants to continue. Lindsey tells Joe that Freddie just wants to help and if Joe let him visit he would tell him that and then leaves.

Reenie asks Celine and Cleo if Pete's called because he won't answer for her. Celine tries to help, but Reenie says that she will be fine and tells Celine to get ready for work. Celine agrees and tells Reenie to call if she needs her. Reenie asks Cleo how Pete could walk out again. Cleo says she doesn't know. Cleo tells Reenie that Pete loves her. Reenie tries to call Pete again. Dan informs Joe that the physio gets easier and Joe says he's have to take his word for it and thanks him. Mercedes walks in and after Joe tells her not to give him a lecture about Phoebe, she tells him that she's still pregnant. Joe asks why she's telling him. Mercedes tells Joe that she's been given a second chance and that he will walk again in time. Joe tells her that it hurts him to know that Freddie is going to be bringing up JJ and advises Mercedes to have an abortion. Mercedes leaves as Lindsey arrives. Sensing something is going on, Lindsey rings Freddie and tells him that she thinks that Joe made a deal with the police.

Holly asks Harry why Cleo isn't in and Harry says she's probably keeping her head down after what happened yesterday. Zack looks on his phone and sees an article headlined 'Find Lisa Loveday'. Harry and Holly tease Nancy about some flowers and a balloon that she received in her classroom. Patrick walks in and asks what's going on, but Nancy assures him everything is fine. He sees Zack on his phone and asks him to hand it over, which he does. Mercedes looks up abortion clinics online when she's confronted by Freddie, who demands to know why she was visiting Joe, and Mercedes reveals that she's pregnant with Joe's baby, which shocks Freddie. Nancy asks Zack if there's any news on Lisa, and Zack admits how his parents are coping and wishes he knew how to help. Patrick walks into his office and catches Theresa playing golf. He calls her behaviour inappropriate. Theresa encourages Patrick and teaches her how to play and she gets a hole in one. Theresa then seduces Patrick.

Mercedes and Freddie talk about her pregnancy and Freddie can see that Mercedes wants to have the baby. She denies it, but after Freddie pushes more, she admits that she has thought about it. Freddie offers to talk to Joe but Mercedes insists that he doesn't want it. Freddie points out that Joe loves kids and that he needs something to encourage him. Mercedes accuses Freddie of using her pregnancy to try and get back in Joe's good books, but he insists it's her decision. Lindsey walks over and Mercedes says she's on her way to the job centre. Lindsey asks Freddie is Joe and Mercedes are up to something, but Freddie says he's not sure.

Reenie raids the bedroom looking for alcohol as Cleo walks in. When Reenie finds a bottle, Cleo snatches it from her, informing her that she'll kill herself and that drinking is the reason why Pete walked out on her and then locks her in the bedroom. Patrick and Theresa get dressed and Nancy walks in to ask him about Zack and quickly realises what they did. Reenie begs Cleo to open the door. Reenie admits that Cleo was right and that she is pathetic. Reenie says that she's proud of Cleo. Freddie confronts Joe about Mercedes' pregnancy but Joe says that she isn't keeping it and Freddie asks if he's sure about that. Freddie asks Joe to let him help him. Joe says he doesn't need his help. Freddie insists that they put that to the test. Cleo opens up about previous times that Reenie was drunk and when Pete walked out. Reenie promises to try to stop drinking. Cleo unlocks the door and tells her that Pete won't be coming home, that they need to move on, and that she'll help her. Mercedes sits on the couch when Theresa and Kathleen-Angel come in. When Theresa goes upstairs to get nappies, Mercedes makes a call about having a termination.

Freddie tries to get Joe to trying using the exercise bars. At first Joe refuses, until Freddie brings up how he stole Lindsey and JJ away, which encourages Joe to try and stand up to Freddie, but his hand slips and he collapses on the floor. Cleo comes back into tell Reenie her bath is ready only to find the room empty and that Reenie has drunk a whole bottle of wine. Drunk, Reenie leaves Pete a voicemail saying that she loves him, as she walks out into the road and is hit by an oncoming vehicle and Reenie lies unconscious on the ground as Cleo rings her. Nancy informs Zack that she spoke to Patrick and that he's given him permission to use the computer lab to launch the 'Find Lisa Loveday' campaign. Zack asks how she managed to persuade Patrick and Nancy responds by saying she has a keen eye and gives Zack his phone back.
