Synopsis

An incident with Nancy results in Charlie running away from home. Tony stands up to Cindy. Maxine has an exciting night planned for Chez Chez for New Year's Eve.

Plot

Maxine's set up a Vegas casino night at Chez Chez and has already sold nearly 200 tickets. It's Tom's birthday and he's finally a teenager. Ruby can't bear being around Esther. Tony tells Dodger of the predicament he's in with Cindy. Ruby scoffs at Esther when she suggests they could go to the cinema together. Nancy continues to take her painkillers. When a taxi arrives outside to take Jesus away, Carmel begs for more time with the baby, which Myra lets her have. Tony realises he's the village idiot and Cindy's laughing at him.

Nancy snaps at Charlie when she catches him with her painkillers in his hand, pretending to be a doctor and looking after Oscar. Myra reassures John Paul that he has his family's support and needs to start believing he can be a good dad. Ruby has a change of heart about the cinema and Esther agrees to go with her, despite having offered to look after Charlie for Nancy. A brazen Tony walks into his flat and stands up to Cindy, issuing her a month's notice to leave, as well as a set of rules to abide by. The Dog is lacking in customers on New Year's Eve. Meanwhile, Chez Chez is thriving with 236 customers.

Callum stands in for Ash at Chez Chez, while Sienna sets off the fire alarm in the venue so that customers will flock to the Dog instead. John Paul stops Jesus from being handed over to social services and announces his full name as Matthew-Jesus. With no one around, Charlie packs his bags, gets dressed up, and leaves the flat. Later, Nancy and Darren head to the bedroom, under the impression that Esther's still looking after the young lad. In the woods, Charlie's ball has fallen down an embankment. He falls down the bank whilst trying to reclaim it. At the Dog, Jack's chuffed when Maxine and the customers from Chez Chez show up. Charlie lies unconscious at the bottom of the bank.
