Synopsis
Brendan struggles with his father's presence. Barney's smitten with Carmel and no longer wants Nana to pay him. Darren and Nancy adjust to parenthood. Maxine and Mitzeee get their own back on Tyson.Plot
Cheryl's delighted when Seamus asks if he can stay for a bit. Seamus questions a mute Brendan on his time in Dublin. Brendan leaves in an uncomfortable state. Carmel worries that Barney's going off of her. Darren and Nancy are thrilled to have Oscar home. Brendan tells Ste that Seamus is in the village. Nana warns Barney that she wants her money back if he does not woo Carmel over soon. Maxine and Mitzeee discover that they're both seeing Tyson.
Brendan feels he can't tell Cheryl about Seamus because she adores him and the truth would destroy her. Barney arranges to meet Carmel at short notice and they share a kiss whilst on their latest date, with Nana watching on from another table. Oscar cries in Darren's arms but not in Nancy's. A confident Brendan confronts Seamus when Cheryl's not around, but loses his nerve when his father calls him "Brenda". Maxine and Mitzeee bicker over their man before deciding to come together to teach him a lesson. Brendan has to endure his father whilst they go for a drink at the Dog. Barney puts his foot down with Nana, no longer wanting payment for Carmel's company - he's smitten for her.
Maxine and Mitzeee handcuff Tyson to a gate outside Chez Chez and use him for publicity, unbuttoning his shirt and taking off his trousers. Ste's introduced to Seamus and Seamus asks Ste who Brendan's been sleeping with around the village. To cover up his own sexuality, Brendan pretends to take an interest in Frankie, and once Ste's gone, Seamus is nasty about him. At 26 Leigh Road, Barney asks Carmel to a Christmas Eve ball and even hands her a dress to wear. Brendan heads straight to Ste's once away from Seamus and punches a wall in a fit of rage. Ste holds a tearful Brendan in his arms and promises his partner that he will not give up on him.Cast
