Synopsis
Doug and Ste cannot see eye-to-eye over their potential move. Maxine befriends a villager, not realising who she is. Ruby unleashes her rage at Esther when the crash inquest closes.Plot
Jack attends the crash inquest. With their bags packed, Connie and Herb decide to give Doug and Ste the $20,000 with no strings attached, but when talk of moving to America arises yet again, Ste feels as though he's being brainwashed and wants space. Mitzeee digs at Mercedes at Price Slice. Bart and Sinead clash when Bart asks for her help writing his memorial speech. Sinead then turns on Esther when she tries to diffuse the situation. Phoebe's unwelcoming towards Mercedes upon bumping into her in the village.
Ste tells Tony what's bothering him. Tony thinks Ste should be jumping at the opportunity to live in America but Ste can't stop thinking about Brendan. Esther checks in on Bart and reassures him things will get better. He calls her his mate. Tony offers to attend Rhys's funeral on both his and Cindy's behalf, but Cindy's insistent on attending it herself. Ste's unimpressed when Doug tells him that he's been contacting schools abroad. Maxine befriends Mercedes, unaware of who she actually is, and even invites her for a drink! Sinead apologises to Bart. Herb tells Doug he saw Ste take the contract for the lease on their flat out of the bin before heading to the airport with Connie.
At the Dog, Maxine and Mercedes bond over drinks. Mitzeee walks in and is gobsmacked to see the ladies interacting. She tells Maxine who she's talking to and Maxine floors Mercedes with a punch. Jack tells Bart, Esther, Ruby and Sinead that the experts concluded that the minibus was an accident waiting to happen with its faulty brakes, and as the person driving is deceased, the case is now closed. Ruby struggles to accept that Maddie's been blamed for the accident and once Jack's gone she and Sinead turn on Esther, telling her that she should be dead and it should be her memorial that they're planning. Doug raises Brendan to Ste and notices that he can't tell him he's over his ex.Cast
