Synopsis
Home truths from Phoebe result in Jacqui taking back control of her behaviour. Myra meets Jim McGinn, Mercedes's barrister. Dodger chooses where he's going to live. Maxine puts a smile on Mitzeee's face.Plot
Maxine apologises to Mitzeee for adding to her hassles and goes out job hunting. Myra arranges to meet Mr. McGinn, Mercedes's barrister. Jacqui has no sympathy for her hospital-bound sister. Dodger tells Dirk he's going to stay with Patrick and Sienna. Maxine offers her services to Frankie and Jack so that they can visit Nancy and Oscar in hospital, but Frankie thinks Mitzeee's set Maxine up to get a job so that she can keep an eye on the Dog. Despite Frankie's reservations, Jack encourages her to give Maxine a chance so that they can go to the hospital together.
Dirk and Myra open up to one another about their troubles. When Mitzeee finds out that Maxine's working at the Dog, she reminds her sister that she'll be paying her wages, so Maxine agrees to work for free in exchange for bed and board and the occasional free drink. Phoebe tries talking to Jacqui about her notice to attend court but ends up comparing Jacqui to her mother when she finds Jacqui drinking. Jim McGinn introduces himself to Myra and explains that Mercedes' doctor has deemed her fit for trial. Maxine tries to set Mitzeee and Liam up at the Dog. Phoebe's outburst results in Jacqui coming to her senses and pouring her alcohol away. Jim wants the whole family to attend the hearing next week so that the jury can see she's supported.
Jacqui apologises to Phoebe and wants her to go and tell the court the truth. She vows to not let Phoebe down again. Dirk spots Dodger, Patrick and Sienna having a drink together outside the Dog. Maxine throws her drink over Liam, takes his shirt off and dances with him. Jacqui supports Myra in her visit to Mercedes. Mercedes hugs Jacqui tightly and cries into her shoulder upon seeing her. Dirk apologises to Patrick for his actions yesterday and reassures Dodger he'll always be there for him. Dodger has a change of heart and tells Patrick and Sienna he can't leave Dirk in the lurch. Frankie's shocked to return to the Dog to find Maxine and Liam dancing on a table. Myra's more determined than ever to get Mercedes freed next week.Cast
