Episode 342 is an episode of Hollyoaks which aired on Monday 30th August 1999.
Synopsis
The gang are wild with excitement at the prospect of going to Ireland for a holiday, but Finn is still playing his cards very close to his chest. Tony is upset at not having been invited, but Lucy gets Finn to agree to let him come along as catering officer. Unfortunately, this good news sends Tony into an organising frenzy and frightens Carol into thinking that she'll need a passport. After a morning queuing at the Passport Office, Carol finds out that she doesn't need one and is furious with Tony.
It's the grand opening of Mr. Cunningham's new convenience store, but Max is less than enthusiastic. After a night with Sean DJing, the poor lamb is dead on his feet, and the stimulation of stacking shelves is not enough to keep him awake. Eventually, having fallen asleep at regular intervals, Mr. Cunningham sends him home and tells him never to come to work in that state again.
Sean's mistreatment of Holly plunges to new depths when she injures herself in the kitchen while he watches the TV. Noticing the bruise on Holly's arm, he quickly covers it up with a cardigan as Max arrives home. He then makes a quick exit and leaves Max in charge of Holly. However, when Cindy finds the bruise, Sean implies that it's Max's fault - 'but he wouldn't have done it on purpose.'
Meanwhile, Tony is desperate to win the mystery prize to be presented to the 100th customer in the shop. He spends most of the day counting the customers and getting under Cindy's feet, but is pipped at the post by Lucy. After a short sulk he admits that they could do with provisions for the trip to Ireland and wishes her luck in the 60 second trolley dash.Plot
