Synopsis

Brendan struggles in the aftermath of Lynsey's death, and vows to put an end to his war with Sampson. Jacqui is left feeling worried about Carmel. Mercedes continues in her quest to win over Riley. Texas and Dodger grow closer on a road trip - even after the van breaks down!

Plot

Brendan carries Lynsey's lifeless body into the village. Cheryl cries out for help and Doctor Browning performs CPR, but it's unsuccessful and she's declared dead. Cheryl wails as horrified and devastated villagers watch on. Doctor Browning tells D.I. Small that he noticed marks around Lynsey's neck. D.I. Small asks Brendan and Cheryl down to the police station for statements. Dodger and Texas head off on a road trip. Carmel's ready to go home but she wants to stay in longer. Ally and Amy learn of Lynsey's death, while Cheryl identifies Lynsey's body.

D.I. Small thinks Lynsey's killer was someone she knew as there was no forced entry into the house. Brendan's in the frame as he moved Lynsey's body from the crime scene. Carmel faints as she walks through the hospital. Texas and Dodger's van breaks down. Brendan's released after questioning. Doug can't get through to Texas on the phone. Texas has another conversation with Dodger about finding out who his biological father is. D.I. Small questions Walker. Both Riley and Mercedes are tearful. Carmel's kept in for another 24 hours. Jacqui calls Carmel out, knowing she pretended to faint.

D.I. Small turns her attention to Ally. Amy provides Ally with an alibi. Carmel stresses to Jacqui she's not ready to leave yet, but Jacqui reassures her that she is. Brendan and Cheryl aren't allowed back home, so Riley lets them stay with him and Mercedes at Mitzeee's flat. Once back in the village, Jacqui's stunned to learn of Lynsey's demise. Ste confronts Amy and Ally over their lie. Cheryl plays a voicemail recording from Lynsey. Dodger and Texas return to the village and she bumps into Doug, who breaks the news that Lynsey was strangled. Texas has a flashback to Silas.
