Synopsis

Tony is keeping himself busy in the yard selling Finn's eclipse trip tickets. He asks Ruth to buy one and she tells him that she can't - she's leaving for the United States on 9th August for a whole year - and that there's nothing here for her to hang round for now. Lewis turns up and Tony tells him the news but he just gives a sarcastic retort, leaving Ruth feeling upset and guilty.

Adam and his mum are working together in Deva. Mrs. M is delighted to get her first big booking when Mrs. Richardson comes in to book her wedding reception. Adam tells his mum that he heard her arguing with dad that morning, trying to suss out how things are between them. However, Mrs/ M insists that everything's fine. Suddenly, Adam is surprised to be faced by a deeply sun-tanned stunner, wearing a backpack. However, her way of greeting is to slap him across the face - "that's for letting me carry the can". Mrs. M and Ruth are introduced and bemused by the loud and boisterous Kerri - Adam's friend from Australia.

Sol gets frustrated when he can't even get a job packing supermarket shelves, even Paul has got himself a job cleaning cars and he can't even read or write! Mrs. Osborne is worried about Sol and wishes that at least he'd take up Jack's offer of some work - but she's also worried about Joe giving up his job and asks if Sol could have a word. Will Sol be able to make Joe see sense?
