Synopsis
Tilly is horrified when she learns who Jen is. Phoebe worries that she may be losing George. Sinead is annoyed about getting a new lodger, whilst Myra's family dinner goes disastrously.Plot
Flowers are delivered to Scott's nan's house. Maddie ignores Callum, and then feels like Theresa and Michaela are laughing at her. George gets ready for his meeting with Mr. Keeler at the sixth form. He worries he won't be allowed back in. Scott's told his parents he'll take on the arrangements necessary for Mags; he feels like he's a let down. Diane prepares the house as there's a new lodger moving in, who happens to be a student teacher. Jen makes amends with Tilly and invites her to Crosby Beach.
Myra invites Jacqui and Rhys over for tea. Jacqui reluctantly agrees to go as Mercedes won't be there. Barney helps Scott. At the beach, Jen and Tilly enjoy spending time together and looking at Anthony Gormley's 'Another Place'. Callum, Maddie and Phoebe wait for George outside the sixth form. When George comes out, he reveals he's being assessed on his fashion module tomorrow to see if he's up to speed. George panics as he's not on top of his coursework. Maddie agrees to help George, leaving Phoebe feeling pushed out as he cancels their plans for food. Tilly trips and hurts herself on the beach. Jen checks her over and they share a kiss. Scott goes into his nan's room to find an address book. He's emotional when he discovers his nan kept a memorabilia box about him.
Jacqui and Rhys arrive at 26 Leigh Road and Myra suggests a chippy tea. Jen and Tilly return to the village. A smile fills Tilly's face. Carmel gives Jacqui food for thought round the dinner table as they discuss Phoebe. Carmel thinks Phoebe just wants Jacqui to notice her. Maddie thinks Phoebe needs to move on from George and tells him this, but George asks her to ease off of Phoebe. Jacqui leaves the McQueens after trying to get through to them that Mercedes will never change. Rhys senses that Jacqui misses her family. Tilly tells her friends about Jen before learning that Jen is Diane's new lodger. She's horrified.Cast
