Synopsis
Liz says goodbye to her family as she leaves for Colchester, with Sophie having changed her mind. Tony reacts violently at the sight of Dom as he feels that everyone has betrayed him. Russ begins his plan to expose Mercedes. Amy is embarrassed when Mike joins in on her and Michaela gossiping.Plot
The Burtons prepare to leave. Tony wakes up on the sofa. Max and Dom continue to worry. Mercedes notices Russ outside the SU Bar, and puts the neck brace on. Mel tells Justin that Liz is still furious with him. Sophie and Justin bicker. Russ is intrigued to learn that Mercedes is interested in horse riding. Russ asks Mercedes out for a drink, but she turns him down. Tony receives a call from Dom, but hangs up. Mike is unimpressed by Michaela and Amy's gossip, and points out inconsistencies in the story.Justin visits Liz. She is cold towards him. She thinks Justin won't cope with being a father and his relationship with Becca won't last. Justin storms off. Sophie is uncomfortable around Russ. She informs him that she's leaving the village. He wants her to stay, but she decides to leave when Russ spots Mercedes entering the SU Bar. Tony and Max apologise to each other. Max worries about Mandy and Clare tries to comfort him. Sophie has decided to stay in Chester. Liz is upset, she wants Sophie to go with her but Sophie refuses. Liz hugs Mel and Sophie as she prepares to leave. Justin arrives to say goodbye to Liz. Liz gets into the taxi, which drives away. Mercedes asks Russ out on a date, but he plays hard to get. He rejects her when she refuses to take off the neck brace.
Tony wonders if Dom knows where Mandy is, and that they were planning to run off together. Tony is furious when he discovers that Dom is staying with Max. Russ changes his mind and accepts Mercedes's offer of a date. Mike embarrasses Amy by telling Michaela about Amy's 'boyfriend' in primary school. Mike remembers his name and Michaela recognises him. Tony accuses everyone of betraying him. Tony and Dom argue. Dom continues to wind up Tony and he floors Dom with a punch. Sophie admits that she stayed for Russ. Liz leaves a voice message. She is already missing them and wants them to visit her as soon as possible.
