Synopsis
Jambo is delighted when Dawn says yes to his Christmas proposal, but is distraught when she dies in his arms whilst discussing the wedding. Cindy gives birth alone inside Got It Taped. The Osborne/Patrick family Christmas is a disaster when Sol and Kurt wind up Jack Osborne, Tony struggles to divide his time among his three girlfriends, whilst Lucy spends Christmas with Rob.Plot
Kurt is in a bad mood on Christmas morning. Tony and Jambo are stressed over wrapping up presents. Jambo jokes about Tony having a relationship with three women at once. Dawn feels slightly unwell on Christmas morning. Lucy wonders why Kurt and Ruth are still fighting. Kurt decides not to spend Christmas with the Osbornes and Patricks. Kurt invites Jambo for a drink, but Jambo wants to spend Christmas with Dawn. Tony calls his girlfriends. Cindy still feels unwell. Mrs. Cunningham makes a speech. She admires Jude for donating bone marrow to Dawn. Cindy goes to walk off her "indigestion". Sol is left smitten by an uncomfortable Lucy, who has accompanied Ruth to her family Christmas. Cindy tries to call Mandy but Mandy doesn't answer the phone. Kurt invites Tony for a drink but he declines, and Tony informs Kurt that Lewis is away.Cindy ends up in the office of Got It Taped, and struggles to stand. Dawn and Jambo walk along the River Dee. She suggests that they steal a rowboat to Jambo's surprise. Kate winds up Sol over Lucy. Jill is furious over Sol's behaviour. Kurt arrives at the Osbornes, and Lucy makes a quick exit, pretending that she needs to see Carol. Cindy tries to grab the phone but cannot and she falls onto the floor. Tony arrives at the video shop and hears the phone ringing in the flat. He is stressed and fails to notice Cindy. Kate makes no attempt at hiding her feelings for Kurt. Sol infuriates Jill, Jack and Ruth by snapping at Jack when he puts his arm around Jill. Ruth is further infuriated when Sol continues to call Jack a "pig". Ruth is furious when Kurt takes Sol's side. Kurt reveals to an intrigued Sol that earlier in the year, he was accused of attempted murder. Rob tells Lucy that Christmas has never been special for him - even at home, it felt like more of a day for his sisters. Lucy tells Rob that she has decided to see a trained counsellor in January 1998, Rob offers her a friend if she needs it.
Jude, Max. Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham worry about Cindy, unaware she is giving birth in the video shop. Dawn is surprised when Jambo wants them to move in together in the future. He gives her a present, it's a ring which Dawn loves. She is surprised when he asks her to marry him. She delightedly tells him "yes". Tony is unimpressed with his presents. A drunk Lucy and Rob open Christmas crackers. Dawn and Jambo fantasise about the wedding and their future. Dawn begins to feel tired and she closes her eyes as Jambo tells her about his dream wedding. He is unaware that Dawn has just passed away. Kurt and Sol make jokes about Scottish people to Jack's annoyance and Ruth's fury. Kate and Gina leave as Ruth makes clear that she is going to explode at Kurt. The pair have another argument. Jambo tries to wake Dawn. Her arm drops and Jambo realises that she has died. He shouts for help and bursts into tears. Cindy has given birth to her baby, sitting alone on the floor of the video shop, holding her.
