Synopsis
Nicole is devastated after humiliating herself in front of Conor. The travellers leave the village as Conor and Nicole exchange an emotional goodbye. Married life isn't turning out exactly as Becca had hoped. Darlene visits Justin in the young offenders institute. Liz comforts Darlene as she finally breaks - however the trial ends, her brother will always be labelled a murderer.Plot
Nicole is unhappy to see Nancy. Becca and Jake are distant with each other. Darlene is cold towards Mel, Sophie and Liz. Joe is mortified when Steph barges into the flat whilst he is nude, and makes him her publicist. Nicole vents to Nancy. She is upset as Nancy's parents want her to return home. Becca is annoyed by the way the marriage is turning out, especially when Jake falls asleep. Darlene visits Justin in prison. Justin tells Darlene that he regrets telling the truth the way he did, but reaffirms that it's the truth.
Steph manages to manipulate Joe into promising to make her the biggest star in Chester, but she fires him for Jez. Nancy confronts Conor, amusing Rory. She is confused when Conor reveals that he has been trying to contact Nicole. Justin tells Darlene that Ali stabbed Macki in self-defence, and Justin hid the knife for him as he expected Ali to survive the accident. Joe and Jez are disgusted by the journalist. Justin tries to help Darlene accept what happened.
Steph isn't pleased to learn that she will have to give evidence in court. Steph tells Joe and Jez that she has been lying. Jake tries to comfort Becca as she tells him that life feels very anti-climactic. Darlene doesn't want to believe Justin. Nicole blames herself for making a mess of what should have been her first time, until Conor appears with flowers for her. Rory arrives and tells Conor that their mother is in remission, but reveals that she wants to return to Ireland. Steph tries to get Joe and Jez to help with her lie.
Darlene tells the Burtons what Justin said - they comfort her by saying that whilst Justin isn't a killer, neither is Ali as it was self-defence. Jake decides to ask Ben to move out. As Rory and Conor prepare to leave, Nicole runs in front of the truck. Rory stops and Conor gets out, with Nicole telling him that they don't need to keep in contact. They kiss and say goodbye before Rory and Conor leave. Darlene worries that - self-defence or not - Ali will always be labelled a murderer.Cast
