Synopsis
Liz and Sophie struggle to help Mel with her alcoholism. Becca is surprised to find a friend in Jake. Steph and Craig's interference makes Frankie recognise her feelings for Jack. Louise and Lisa lock heads over Ben.Plot
Becca ponders over the photo. Sophie and Liz find Mel asleep on the dining table. Ben finds several messages from Louise, whom Ben has stood up. Sophie wakes Mel, who needs to "phone Brad Pitt". Liz gives Mel coffee, Liz is ashamed of her. Mel can't remember what happened after she left the SU Bar. Liz confronts her over the gnome. She says Mel needs to sort herself out. Louise winds up Lisa. They both want to attack each other but prevent themselves and bicker. Frankie is grateful that Jack has given the landlord a verbal reference. Craig thinks that he and Steph should intervene, but he is not so keen. Louise confronts Ben. She says that he has to make it up to him, "big time". Louise makes Ben take her out to dinner that night. Jack can't find the keys to The Dog in the Pond. Craig tries to convince Jack to take them to bowling and Frankie makes Craig give Jack the keys. Jake visits Ben, who is in a bad mood. Becca pays Ben a visit. She and Jake are civil towards each other but Becca wants to talk to Ben. Becca asks Ben for his advice on the photo of Justin. Ben thinks that she should tell the truth, "that's the only way". He leaves as there's something he needs to "sort out". Jack informs Frankie that the body of the girl that was discovered was one of Toby's murder victims. Frankie apologises for earlier. Jack apologises for jumping to conclusions last week. Frankie wants Jack to come bowling with them. She reminds Jack that it was the kids' idea. Jack accepts and Frankie is pleased. Ben visits Lisa, he prepares to tell her that he loves her but they are interrupted by Louise. Lisa decides to leave. Liz and Sophie are annoyed to learn that Mel is going back out. Liz blames herself for Mel and Justin's problems. She wants Sophie to go out with Mel and Mel is pleased. Jake approaches Becca and tries to help her with her problem. He agrees to help her with her problem from a neutral point of view. Frankie tells Craig to keep his phone on for if the landlord calls, Steph tells him to turn it off in secret. Craig is pleased that Steph has decided to try get Jack and Frankie together. Jack suggests that they split up into teams. Craig teases Jack and Frankie so that they will want to be a team. Louise arrives early and tries to flirt with an unimpressed Ben. Becca is conflicted; she knows Jake is right about needing to tell someone, but she doesn't want to let Justin down. Jake says that he will support Becca no matter the decision. Becca decides to speak to Sally. Jack and Frankie are winning against Craig and Steph. Jack and Frankie are really enjoying themselves. Jack and Frankie both go to grab the ball and their hands touch. Frankie tries to hide her nerves over the incident and ends up bowling a strike. Louise wants Ben in the bedroom but he doesn't want to. The doorbell rings and Ben answers - it's Lisa. Ben lies about why he can't talk to her. Mel binge drinks in the SU Bar to Sophie's horror. Sophie tries to convince Mel not to drink so much. Mel thinks she is jealous. Mel ends up flirting with a man and pulls him on her and he runs off. Sophie is mortified and leaves. Louise wonders why Ben is playing hard to get. Ben snaps at her and breaks up with her. Louise is heartbroken. Liz is furious when Mel returns home blind drunk. Frankie and Jack have begun to fall for each other. Frankie is informed that the application has gone through and they will have a home tomorrow.Cast
