Synopsis
It's Jake's birthday, but his family apparently couldn't care less. None of them are showing any sign of remembering the importance of the date, let alone organising something that passes for a celebration. Fed up of cajoling and coercing his clan, Jake decides to make no effort whatsoever in the way of subtle hints or loaded remarks: if they can't be bothered to do anything, then he's not going to expend any energy on complaining or sulking. He's already done more than enough for his ungrateful siblings. He's figured without a sudden attack of conscience on the part of Frankie. Aware that something had been niggling her since she woke up, she suddenly recalls the significance of the day. The race is on to stage some kind of suitable commemoration before it's too late - and moreover one in the fine tradition of the Deans: over-the-top, gregarious, and unpredictable.Plot
