Synopsis
Ben is thrilled when Dale decides to leave the village. Jake decides to help out the family, but is rejected by a suspicious Johnno. Mandy and Tony continue to get closer as Max and Helen inadvertenly push her away. Zara fails her driving test and is furious at the lack of support from her friends.Plot
The Deans struggle with no electricity. Zara studies for her driving test. Tony points out to Helen damage to his shop that Max has done. Abby points out to Zara that Lee has received plenty of fan mail, but nobody else has any. She thinks Lee is trying to make her jealous as the letters are from all different cities, and the band has only played in Chester. Zara complains about Abby not listening to her as she has tried to tell her about her upcoming driving test, leaving Abby unimpressed. Dale snaps at Abby without thinking when she tells Dale that Will is disappointed at not having yet caught the serial killer.
Jake comforts a downbeat Steph. He gives her money to go to the salon. Jake and Johnno argue. Jake tells Johnno that the family is still spending money unnecessarily. Bombhead vents to Lee about not getting close to Natalie, unlike Norman. Mandy and Tony bond over ways to clean the house, and Mandy is impressed with Tony's vacuum. Mandy is unimpressed when Tony tells her that Helen blames her for leaving. Abby catches Lee out about the fan mail and is not happy with him.
Dale enjoys teasing a hungover Ben. She flirts with him but he is unimpressed, saying that she let people think the village was safe. Zara apologises to Steph. She says that Abby is selfish. Steph gets annoyed about Zara talking about her driver's test. Abby tells Steph about Natalie planning a girls' night out. Craig lies that they have a powercut caused by a down pylon. Abby offers to film at hers. Mandy bumps into Helen, who is unsympathetic. Helen offers to speak to Max and Gordon. Mandy says that she would rather not go back home, and storms off.
Dale teases Ben over not hearing from Izzy. She flirts with him, he throws her against the door and they make out. Abby tries to unlock the door but Ben quickly puts the door latch on. Abby gives up and she and Craig leave. Zara calls Sue, but gets no answer. She is nervous when she meets her driving instructor. Jake offers to pay the electric bill, he gives Johnno £200. However, Johnno is ungrateful and this sparks an argument between the pair. Johnno throws Jake's money in Jake's face.
Dale is annoyed with all the men in her life not seeing "what [she's] worth". She says that she was going to give Ben everything, as she's no longer in love with Will - after she was informed that she was no longer on the serial killer case. Helen reluctantly allows Craig, Abby, Lee and Bombhead to film in Washed Up but is left regretting it. Zara does well in her test but does not stop talking the entire time. Helen is desperate for the group to hurry up and leave. Dale vents about Will, which makes Ben wonder if she only wanted to sleep with him to spite Will.
Helen visits Tony, and realises that Helen thinks that he and Mandy are sleeping together. Tony assures her that they're not, as is angry. Zara brakes suddenly, almost causing the car behind to crash into them. She thinks that she hit a black cat running across the road, but it turns out to be a bin bag. Bombhead asks Natalie on a date but is rejected. Mandy races off when Bombhead informs her that Helen has gone to see Tony. Steph tells Johnno that Jake gave her money to go to the salon. He tells her that all the hairdressers kept staring and asking questions.
Mandy interrupts Helen and Tony arguing. Mandy is furious with Helen. After she leaves, Tony comforts her and assures her that he and Helen are history. Zara is unable to get ahold of any of her family members. Abby reveals to Bombhead and Craig that Lee has been sending himself fan-mail. Steph is delighted when the electricity turns back on, and Jake lets her believe it was down to Johnno. Johnno wonders where Jake is getting his money from.
Zara is upset and accuses her friends of not wanting her around after they forget to ask her about her driving test, and laugh at her for the accident. Dale informs Ben that she leaves today. She doesn't want to tell Will or Abby. She says that Ben will regret letting her go, but Ben says that he only regrets sleeping with her. He doesn't want to see her again. She leaves. Zara tries to get ahold of Norman, but he is unavailable.Cast
