Synopsis
As Toby contemplates the sight of Steph lying unconscious in the street, he feels sure he's got away with it - again. But there's unfinished business lurking in the wings. Reeling from the consequences of his actions, Toby simply cannot bring himself to return home and confront the unassuming faces of Ellie and Linda. So instead he wanders aimlessly round Chester, turning over the implications of his behaviour in his mind, scarcely able to believe he's let his emotions run riot in such a horrific way once again. Eventually his feet lead him back to his flat - but as if to confirm his fears, he opens the door to find a distraught Linda waiting him. His mum comes straight to the point: she saw and heard everything. This revelation leaves Toby speechless. As Linda proceeds to lay into him, branding her son a monster, all Toby can do is break down in tears. It doesn't take long, however, before Toby bounces back and starts to fight his corner. Twisting the argument round into an indictment of Linda's role as a parent, he soon reduces his own mum to a sobbing wreck. As emotions and tempers spiral out of control, it seems increasingly likely there can be but one resolution to this grisly exchange. The bell looks set to toll for yet another villager, but whom?Plot
