Diane was a nurse who visited the Ashworth family following Hannah Ashworth's re-admission to hospital due to a relapse of anorexia in December 2009. Hannah begged the nurse to tell her family that she was fine, but Diane told Hannah that she would need to undergo a nutrition programme and various support meetings during her stay as tests showed that she was ill again. Hannah refused to believe Diane as Hannah's mother, nurse Suzanne Ashworth, knew her personally. Meeting with Hannah alone later, Hannah told Diane that she fled from her family to get them off her back. Diane attempted to convince Hannah to stay, but was distracted by the family arguing in the corridor and told them to shut up. However, Hannah took the opportunity to flee.
