Biography[]
2021-2022: Settling In[]
DeMarcus was born to Felix Westwood and Viv in July 2006 living in Manchester. In March 2020, Felix left to reunite with his first love, Martine Deveraux. In September 2021, tracked Felix to Hollyoaks through an app DeMarcus had installed on his phone, confronting him at Walter Deveraux's birthday party. Initially sour, DeMarcus was left feeling guilty after Felix nearly drowned when DeMarcus crashed into his canoe. DeMarcus decided to move in with Felix and Martine, which DeMarcus's mother agreed to.
With the house full, DeMarcus was told that he would need to share a bedroom with his half-brother Toby Faroe. Toby was initially greatly unhappy with the living situation, but eventually came to get along with DeMarcus. Beginning at Hollyoaks High School, DeMarcus landed himself in trouble on his first day and received a detention. However, after being left injured during an altercation with teacher Sienna Blake, DeMarcus insisted on lying about the circumstances of his injury.
Felix later tried to have Warren Fox imprisoned upon learning that Warren had attacked Walter, with Warren threatening to harm DeMarcus if Felix proceeded. After nearly being murdered by Warren, Felix was forced to play dead, with DeMarcus and Toby believing that Felix had left again. DeMarcus's mother Viv arrived and attempted to take DeMarcus back to Manchester, but Martine convinced Viv to let him stay. After a misconception with Saul Reeves over supposed shoplifting, DeMarcus accepted Saul's job offer at his clothing stall at The Cunningham Grande Bazaar. Shortly afterwards, Felix returned to the village and revealed that he and Martine were engaged. The wedding took place a few weeks later, with DeMarcus and Felix having a heart-to-heart after Felix began having second thoughts.
In January 2022, DeMarcus's half-sister Celeste Faroe was killed in the Salon de Thé de Marnie Explosion whilst Toby was left comatose. Discovering that Toby murdered Martine's niece Lisa Loveday, DeMarcus ended up witnessing Toby coming out of his coma. After learning that Martine and Felix were planning to protect Toby, DeMarcus called Saul. Felix and Martine attempted to help Toby flee the country so DeMarcus issued Felix an ultimatum. Felix chose DeMarcus and called the police on Toby.
In the aftermath, Felix tried to bond with DeMarcus, but DeMarcus felt suffocated by how adamant he was on spending time with him. Befriending Leah Barnes, the pair broke into the school and found alcohol in the caretaker's cupboard. DeMarcus ended up collapsing from alcohol poisoning and Felix backed off, with the pair instead bonding over boxing. Meanwhile, DeMarcus ended up developing feelings for Leah and she revealed that his feelings were reciprocated.
2022-2023: Issues with Joseph, Relationship with Vicky and Departing for America[]
DeMarcus ended up falling out with Charlie Dean after Charlie won a boxing match with DeMarcus through cheating. Checking on Vicky Grant (the foster daughter of Felix's friend Scott Drinkwell), Vicky's over-protective boyfriend Joseph Holmes believed that DeMarcus had feelings for Vicky. Joseph threatened DeMarcus and after Charlie made matters worse, he beat DeMarcus up. After Felix believed Charlie was to blame, DeMarcus was forced to tell him that it was Joseph. Leah - getting the wrong end of the stick - told DeMarcus that she didn't want to be with someone who got into fights and dumped him.
Joseph's targeting of DeMarcus soon turned into bullying, and DeMarcus became fearful of encountering Joseph's gang. After initially attempting to hide away (to no aval), DeMarcus decided to arm himself with a knife. Charlie informed P.C. Saul Reeves, but DeMarcus managed to prevent him from finding it. However, after a confrontation at the park with Joseph, DeMarcus decided to give the knife to Saul. Saul ended up encountering Joseph on the way to dispose of the knife, and Joseph fatally stabbed Saul with it during the arrest. DeMarcus was accused of stabbing Saul, with Joseph making efforts to frame him. He was remanded in custody, but released in October 2022 after Joseph was arrested and made a confession.
With Joseph facing the consequences of his actions, DeMarcus grew closer to Vicky. As their friendship appeared on the cusp of becoming something more, Leah became jealous after DeMarcus rejected her, giving up when her attempts to change her style led nowhere. Meanwhile, Vicky confided in DeMarcus about her mother wanting her to visit for Christmas, so he raised the money for her to afford the coach trip. During a camping trip, Vicky overdosed on ecstasy after drinking a spiked drink. She then decided to relocate to a foster home in Kent to be closer to her mother, rejecting DeMarcus's offers to join her and breaking up with him.
At Christmas, Bobby Costello, the son of Felix's fling Mercedes McQueen, trapped DeMarcus in Price Slice and started a fire, believing that he was Felix. DeMarcus was rescued by Prince McQueen, and Bobby was imprisoned. Felix and Mercedes fell out but eventually reconciled, to DeMarcus's fury. However, Sharon Bailey, the daughter of DeMarcus's step-grandfather Walter Deveraux's love interest Pearl, befriended Mercedes and got the pair to get along.
By 2023 After being beat up and attacked by drug dealer, Taz, DeMarcus tires of Felix's nature for him to stand up for himself therefore he opts to leave for America and be with his mother, Felix at first is against the idea of DeMarcus leaving and even attempts to have Warren speak to DeMarcus however Warren finds himself agreeing with DeMarcus, DeMarcus later points out after Felix has a fight with Warren its the exact reason why his leaving, eventually Felix leads DeMarcus to think that he has come to terms with him departing. Some weeks pass and DeMarcus aids Vicky to the school prom, the two win prim king and Queen but opt to give it to the organisers, Scott and Sally.
