Conrad was a quad bike instructor who Hannah Ashworth, Sarah Barnes and Nancy Hayton met whilst in France on a school trip in 2006. Hannah believed that he was "German or maybe Swedish". Hannah struggled with the quad bike and - after being sprayed with mud by passer-bys - was abandoned by her friends and left with an amused Conrad.
