Cassie Powney is an English actress who played Mel Burton from October 2003 to the character's death in September 2006. Cassie appeared in the programme alongside her twin sister, Connie Powney, who played Sophie Burton. Cassie also appeared as Mel in Hollyoaks: No Going Back and Hollyoaks: Back from the Dead.
Cassie has also appeared in Dalziel and Pascoe and Crackanory.
