Abe Fielding is the son of Marie Fielding; the younger half brother of Joel Dexter; the older half brother of Arlo Fielding.
Biography
2000s-2023: Early Life
Abe is the son of Marie Fielding and Mick Cornus. Mick and Marie had met around 2000/2001 but Mick became abusive towards Marie. Marie's son Joel Dexter attacked Mick in defence of Marie, but Mick reported him to the police and Marie didn't back him up. After a stint in a young offenders' institute, Joel reunited with Marie in September 2012. Mick was murdered in the same month: suffocated by Simon Walker to frame Joel's 'father figure' Brendan Brady. Joel lost contact with the Fieldings not long after.
By 2023, Abe lived in London where he met Cleo McQueen, who had completed a year-long stint as a medical researcher in India. Marie was serving a prison sentence. Cleo decided to return to Hollyoaks in January 2024 and left Abe after he fought with two guys over her.
2024-: Arrival
Abe arrived in Hollyoaks merely days after Cleo's return, in search of her. He soon put down roots in the village, working as a personal trainer to Cleo's bemusement. After learning that the incident with the two men was a misunderstanding, Cleo began confusing Abe with her feelings until he discovered her with her ex-boyfriend - Joel - talking about their future on the City Wall. Abe informed Joel's fiancée Leela Lomax and revealed that he was Joel's younger brother, causing Joel to turn on him. As Joel fought for Leela, Cleo decided to choose Abe over Joel. However, Abe told Cleo that he felt like he was a rebound and left.
Cleo's cousin Theresa McQueen confronted Abe over his behaviour towards Cleo, but the pair drunkenly slept together after Abe revealed that his girlfriend before Cleo was unfaithful. Cleo found out and rejected Abe, until he opened up to her about his relationship with Mick. Abe then enjoyed using Theresa to make Cleo feel jealous and speaking lowly of himself to manipulate her emotions. At Joel & Leela, and Mercedes McQueen's joint gender reveal party, Marie made a surprise return following her release from prison. Marie revealed that her youngest son, Arlo, went missing in 2023, unaware that Abe had hidden him from her with Arlo's father and step-mother.
