Synopsis[]
Doug's parents return with some devastating news for their son. Texas attempts to put aside her differences with Sienna for the sake of Dodger when they attend a wine tasting event at the Dog.
Plot[]
Connie and Herb turn up unannounced to see Doug. Whilst in the village, Sienna drops by the boathouse and invites Dodger on a wine tasting course at the Dog. Texas drops her and Dodger's plans so that they can attend the event with Sienna, but is annoyed when Dodger's assumed that he and Sienna will be wine tasting without her. Doug wonders why Connie and Herb are back; Connie tries to get Herb to make an announcement but Herb stalls and claims he's just missing his son. He offers Doug the $20,000 inheritance when he discovers that the deli's in debt, but only on the condition that he, Ste and kids move over to the States.
A freezing cold Mercedes asks Myra if she can return home if she gets a job, but Myra's not got time for her daughter's pleas. Doug kicks his parents out of the deli. At the wine tasting event, Sienna steals a bottle of wine whilst Jack's back is turned. Dodger's frustrated with Texas when she can't even crack a smile. Doug considers the move but Ste's dead against it. Mercedes arranges herself a job interview. Once Doug's out of the deli, Herb visits Ste and urges him to reconsider the move, as he won't stop until his son is back in the States with him and Connie. A jealous Texas questions Sienna on her love life.
Mercedes doesn't show up for the job interview when harassed by Doug whilst on her way there. She returns to her flat and breaks down. A drunken Texas tells Dodger that she gets the impression that Sienna doesn't want her around, but an equally drunk Dodger falls asleep as she's talking to him. Doug walks in on Ste confronting Herb over his threats to take Doug away from him. Texas and Sienna return Dodger to the boathouse. Doug's deeply unimpressed with his father. A tired Connie asks Herb to tell Doug and Ste the truth. Mercedes cries again when Myra texts her asking her how her interview went. Connie reveals that Herb has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and it's why they're so desperate for him to return to the States.
