Synopsis[]
Ruby's excited for her upcoming birthday party which she intends to host at the Dog, but Jack won't let her have the venue past 7pm. Cheryl has some news for the women about her new direction in life. Tony discovers the extent of Cindy's financial crisis. George is keeping a secret.
Plot[]
Ash records her first interview with Brendan. Ruby's ignored by her friends outside sixth form. The women make the front cover of the newspaper. Jack allows Ruby to have a pub party. Neil flashes cash he claims he's won at the casino. Brendan recalls an incident that occurred in the locker room before a football game when he was younger. He explains how he hospitalised the young lad and was then sent to a youth offenders institute, where he had a difficult stint inside. George questions Neil's honesty over the cash, but is encouraged to drop it by his friends.
Cindy admits to Tony she's lost everything. Tony lets her move in with him rent-free on the condition she works for him. Once Brendan's finished his interview and left, Ash realises he's played her and just used things around him to construct a story. Neil's laughed at when he lets slip that he was with his nan at the her casino night at a social club. Jack only agrees to let Ruby host her party until 7pm. Mitzeee's bank card is cut up when it's declined. Mitzeee realises Warren must have frozen the account. Cheryl pays for her drinks and suggests she gets a job. Ste leaves Jack his CV.
George awkwardly avoids answering Neil when he asks him what he did over Christmas. Ash tells Brendan she thinks he's scared that whoever he falls in love with won't fall for him back. Brendan insists that Ash is wrong. The women make resolutions: Lynsey resolves to do whatever it takes to get her nursing career back in check; Mitzeee resolves to change her career strategy; Nancy resolves to have more fun; Jacqui resolves to be nicer to Rhys while Cheryl resolves to go to HCC to complete a course in business and business management. George returns to a house which he's been squatting at. He's homeless.
