Synopsis[]

D.I. Cohen arrives with bad news for the Nightingales. Cindy faces the consequences of Luke's actions. Olivia switches John Paul's non-alcoholic drink with her alcoholic drink, whilst Cleo plays matchmaker between Misbah and Zain.

Plot[]

Zara and Cindy ask Tom for help. Romeo and Donna-Marie have little money left over after getting their affairs in order. Olivia checks John Paul's coffee. Tom tells Zara that his money is all tied up in assets. Cindy is unable to get a refund from the travel agent. Romeo comes up with an idea as Donna-Marie and Juliet argue over their money issues. Misbah breaks the news to Cindy that the trial is a scam. Cindy is heartbroken to learn that there is no more hope for Luke, and reveals to Misbah that Luke spent the fundraising money. Romeo tells Donna-Marie that she will be running a market stall at the bazaar. Donna-Marie and Romeo lie that they plan on running a bric-a-brac stall targeting collectors.

Misbah tells Cleo about Zain as he bumps into them at The Dog in the Pond. Cleo immediately catches on that Misbah has feelings for Zain. Cindy reveals to Zara and Ollie that the trial is a scam. A blazing row ensues between Cindy and Zara: Cindy thinks that Zara is trying to distract herself from reality. They receive notifications from the fundraiser page - Luke has posted a thank you message to donators for funding a holiday to Mallorca! Tom is uncomfortable asking Donna-Marie personal questions during the interview. She gets angry when she thinks Tom is judging her and storms off. Olivia finds John Paul's resignation letter. John Paul opens an envelope and finds a thank you card from the students. He decides to dispose of his resignation letter.

Cindy worries about losing Luke and plans to apologise to Zara. Scott tells Zara that her election survey results have dropped drastically due to the fundraiser 'fraud'. Donna-Marie enlists Verity's help: she needs Marnie's inheritance money back and is willing to take James to court. Verity decides to report Marnie's car as stolen in an attempt to track James down, or at least prove that contact was attempted. Olivia finds John Paul at The Dog. John Paul orders a lemonade and Olivia a vodka-lemonade, which she switches when John Paul's back is turned.

Tom is confronted by Martine, Ripley and Pearl. Zara uses her manifesto speech to pin the blame on Cindy. Cindy arrives at the bazaar and the crowd immediately turn on her. Cleo finds Zain in the park and tells him that she saw a connection between him and Misbah. Cindy tries to defend herself, but the crowd begin chanting "scam". The police arrive and Sam asks Cindy to accompany him to the police station. Romeo refuses to give up on James. D.I. Cohen arrives at Weirside View and informs Juliet, Romeo and Donna-Marie that Marnie's car has been found with a body in the boot.
