Synopsis[]
Plot[]
Zara comes downstairs with an almighty hangover and moans that she is too ill to go to school, but her mum has no sympathy for her and tells her that she's going. Mandy gloats to Max about him having to wait another week for his driving test but is miffed when he tells her that it is now straight after hers.
Gina comes into the shop and invites Cindy over for a meal with her and Sol. Cindy needs a babysitter for Holly and Mandy agrees to do it. Helen arrives to give Mandy a driving lesson and they secure Holly and Tom into child seats. As they drive along Helen rants about her inconsiderate husband who seems to be putting his own son first. Mandy drives badly and, when Tom starts to scream Helen becomes distracted. When Helen turns back from Tom she realises that Mandy has drifted into the middle of the road. An oncoming car has to swerve out of the way – and ends up on the grass verge.
Luke arrives at Mandy's and tries to make an effort. He tries to tell her that there's something he needs to tell her, but Mandy just assumes that he's referring to their recent rows and just moves in to kiss and make up.
A hungry Sol arrives at the halls early to see Gina and maybe get some breakfast. Gina says that she'll make him breakfast but there's nothing suitable in the fridge. Gina feels guilty that Sol can't stay with them because Emily will get into trouble. Sol asks Gina if she can lend him a fiver – just to tide him over. She feels sorry for him and tells him that she'll draw some money out on her way back from the lecture.
Sol is left alone in Gina and Emily's room but is absolutely starving and getting impatient waiting for Gina to return. He starts to look around the desk and spots a tin that contains some cash. He decides to take some money so that he can go to Deva and then Gina can replace it later. However, as Sol is fishing around in the tin, Emily walks in and catches him in the act.
