Synopsis[]
Brendan is shocked when his father, Seamus Brady, shows up at his house. Carmel and Barney enjoy mulled wine together. Sienna gets a job at the Dog.
Plot[]
Ste wakes to a coffee from Brendan, who has booked them tickets to go back home. Before their flight, Brendan offers to show Ste around Dublin. Nancy wants Oscar home for Christmas, but worries that as each day passes the likelihood of that happening fades. Carmel looks forward to mulled wine with Barney, but admits to Nana they haven't even shared a kiss yet. Brendan shows Ste around where he grew up and then takes him to the beach. Their final stop is Brendan's father's abandoned pub.
Brendan recalls his time at the pub as a young lad; how he was once caught drinking whisky and he feared he was going to get a black eye, but instead Seamus just cheered him on and got him drunk, before mocking him in front of his cronies and calling him "Brenda". Ste reassures Brendan that Seamus can't hurt him anymore. They trash the pub and then sleep together inside it before heading home. With a job advertisement up outside the Dog for Christmas cover, Sienna decides to apply. Maxine flirts with Tyson in Mitzeee's absence. Sienna admits to Nancy she has no experience in bar work, but as she and her father are moving into the area she needs to find work.
Nancy takes Sienna on and introduces her to Darren and Jack. Cheryl's over the moon to see Ste and Brendan back together. Carmel and Barney reach an agreement to go to a chippy together if Christmas Day gets too much for either of them. Sienna breaks the news to Nancy that the hospital called whilst she was out. Nancy takes a tablet before leaving. At the end of their mulled wine date, Carmel's disappointed when Barney doesn't kiss her. Tyson texts both Maxine and Mitzeee at the same time. A man asks Ste where he can find Oakdale Drive. Nancy's thrilled to find out Oscar's coming home for Christmas. Brendan comes face-to-face with his father, Seamus.
