Hollyoaks events
- 2nd January - Nancy Hayton is arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.
- 3rd January - Valerie Holden is arrested for assault after a fight with Katy Fox.
- 8th January - Kathy Barnes is arrested after she is revealed to be the person targeting the Ashworth family. Kieron Hobbs arrives in the village. (First appearance of the character)
- 9th January - Amy Barnes is attacked by her boyfriend, Ste Hay.
- 4th April - Sean Kennedy's body is found by Barry Newton and Lauren Valentine.
- 16th June - Newt and Eli set off a bomb in The Loft.
- 8th July - Max Cunningham is killed when he is struck by a car driven by a drunken Niall Rafferty.
- 11th July - O.B. leaves the village, seeing the ghost of Max Cunmingham. Dawn Cunningham reconciles with her brother in ghost form after eleven years. (Last appearance of Sam O'Brien until 2016, first appearance of Dawn Cunningham since 1997 and final appearance of the character, and final appearance of Max Cunningham).
- 16th July - Jack Osborne attempts suicide by overdosing.
- 17th July - Jack Osborne decides to fake his own death on the suggestion by Darren Osborne, after Darren discovers the body of Eamon Fisher.
- 8th August - Jack Osborne's family discover that he is still alive.
- 5th September - Niall Rafferty kills Kieron Hobbs after spiking his drink. (Final appearance of Kieron Hobbs)
- 16th October - Niall Rafferty blows up a church with Myra, John Paul, Michaela, Mercedes, Tina, Carmel and Jacqui McQueen and Jack and Darren Osborne inside.
- 24th November - Eamon Fisher's funeral takes place. Theresa McQueen arrives in the village. (First appearance of the character)
- 25th November - Niall Rafferty kidnaps Tom Cunningham.
- 23rd December - Spencer Gray arrives in the village for his foster brother Warren Fox's wedding. (First appearance of the character)
- 25th December - Warren Fox and Louise Summers marry. However, after the ceremony, Louise is murdered by an unknown assailant.
- 27th December - A flashback to Warren Fox and Louise Summers's wedding reveals Warren as Louise's killer. Louise had hidden a gun in an attempt to kill Warren, which Warren had found. (Final appearance of Louise Summers)

- 6th October - The Hollyoaks Wikia is created.
- 24th November - First ever episode of Hollyoaks Later airs.
