1 Stockton Lane is a flat on Stockton Lane, situated above public house The Dog in the Pond. The property is usually occupied by the owners or managers of The Dog in the Pond.

History[]

Andersen Family[]

Until 1996, the flat was occupied by the Andersen family. Greg and Jane's niece Ruth Osborne moved in with the family whilst studying at the nearby Riverbank College. After Natasha Andersen died from an ecstacy overdose after her drink was spiked, the Andersens moved to the United States, selling the pub to Ruth's parents Jack and Celia Osborne. Jack and Celia moved in with Ruth and their son Darren.

Osborne Family (I)[]

After Jack's infidelity with Ruth's friend Dawn Cunningham was revealed, Celia took Darren and moved to the United States. After the divorce from Celia, Jack fell in love with barmaid Jill Patrick and invited her family to move in. Despite Ruth not getting along with the Patrick family, Jack and Jill later married. Darren later returned to living with Jack in 1999 after getting into trouble, and clashed on several occasions with Jill's children; Gina, Kate and Sol. Sol was later kicked out of the house after several intense clashes with Jack, but later moved back in with his girlfriend Jess Holt. Jill later died from a brain tumour and Jess's pimp Steve Holt ended up setting fire to The Dog in the Pond, also gutting 1 Stockton Lane. The pub and flat were rebuilt, whilst Sol and Jess fled the village after pushing Steve from a balcony, and Gina left to work at an orphanage in China.

Darren later returned to Celia in 2000 after turning the village against him. After the death of his brother Theo, Jack allowed a homeless Norman Sankofa to move in with the family. Darren later returned, and Jack's niece Natalie Osborne also moved in whilst studying at Hollyoaks Community College. Norman later left to become a police officer (inspired by Jack), and Natalie was later sent back to Scotland after Jack tired of her and her sister Rachel's poor behaviour.

Jack began a relationship with Frankie Dean in 2004, as her husband had left her for his pregnant mistress. She later moved in with her children Craig, Debbie, Jake and Steph. Debbie left to work on a cruise ship after the death of her boyfriend Dan Hunter on Christmas Day, whilst Jake moved into 5 Oakdale Drive, Flat 1 after marrying Becca Hayton in August 2005. The flat was destroyed in The Dog in the Pond Explosion of 2006, but was re-built and the Osbornes moved back in in 2007. After Craig moved to Dublin later that year, Jack and Frankie began fostering a young girl named Daisy before becoming long-term foster carers for Barry "Newt" Newton.

In February 2008, Darren lost The Dog in the Pond and the flat to Warren Fox in a poker game. Jack managed to raise £100,000 to purchase it back, but thugs Anthony and Carl Saunders learned of Jack's money and stole it in an armed robbery. Warren allowed the Osbornes' to keep the business, but the family continued to have financial issues. After Darren helped Jack fake his death and the pair were caught and imprisoned in October 2008, Frankie sold the pub and flat to Neville Ashworth.
